Research lines
 
1.
  National Opinion Research Database. This line develops the collection, organization and dissemination of sampling research carried out in the country in the central areas of Political Science, Sociology and Behavior in general. Its organization is thematic and is based on research provided by companies, universities, independent academic centers and other entities. Free public access to the data stored by the Center is guaranteed, with the user only bearing specific operational costs. The data is organized according to a standardized format, with a view to facilitating exchange between entities participating in the system and the successive incorporation of new data. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 1992).

  Research Methodology and Techniques. Laboratory for implementing activities for the evaluation and/or development of sampling research techniques - questionnaires, samples, data analysis, linked to academic projects of teachers and/or special undergraduate subjects in Social Sciences. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 1992).

  Data Disclosure - OPINIAO PUBLIC Magazine. Line of data dissemination through the preparation of an insert in the Revista Opiniao Publica, prepared by its team of researchers. CESOP publishes opinion data from the National Database and the International Data to which it has access on a regular and technically organized basis, in addition to publishing articles and works produced nationally and internationally in the area. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 1992).
 
4.
  Analysis of Socioeconomic Data in Education. This line organizes and stores socioeconomic and cultural databases of basic and higher education students, collected from teaching assessment instruments: SAEB-Basic Education Assessment System, ENEM-National Secondary Education Examination and ENC-National Examination of Undergraduate Courses. Develops studies on characteristics of school performance, values ​​in education, socioeconomic and demographic profile of students. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 2000).
