Study and research the political presence of the military apparatus in the Democratic State of Law, given its importance for knowledge of the Brazilian and South American political process. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 1990).   3.   Strategic Concept and Brazilian Defense Policy. Compete for the construction of the foundations of a new strategic conception and for the formulation of a national defense policy. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 1985).   4.   Brazilian Foreign Policy and South American Integration. Study and research Brazil's relations in the context of regional integration, according to its strategic and diplomatic dimensions. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 1993).   5.   Public Security. Contribute to the study of topics related to Public Security, aiming to subsidize society and State bodies for the construction of an efficient Public Security model. (Approved by the Department/Scientific Council in 2000).
