THE DENTIST SURGEON - PATIENT RELATIONSHIP. The study of the Surgeon-Dentist - patient relationship involves the identification of processes or interactive variables that influence the performance of treatment and its results. Among these variables are *Patient adherence* to clinical interventions and dentist recommendations, the patterns of anxiety and fear that appear in the dental situation and the manifestations of stress (from the professional or the patient) that eventually occur. ERGONOMICS APPLIED TO DENTISTRY. Ergonomics as a science governs man's relationships with his work environment, emphasizing areas such as physics, physiology, anatomy and psychology. In this way, it provides a more harmonious working environment that facilitates greater productivity of work without compromising its quality. In dentistry, the study of ergonomics provides a better distribution of dental equipment, a better working posture and, consequently, greater productivity of the services provided.
