Centers and Cores
Unicamp's 28 Interdisciplinary Research Centers and Centers were created, starting in 1977, with the aim of providing cultural, scientific and technological investigations and the provision of services, with a Interdisciplinary practices, which could not be conducted in conventional departments.
The specific areas of activity of the 28 C&N include research on Logic and Theory of Science, Thought and History, Population and Environment, Opinion Polls, Urban Knowledge and Language, Music and Theater, Neurosciences, Meteorology, Climatology, Geoprocessing, Energy and Petroleum Planning, Genetic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Scientific Dissemination, among others.
They collaborate with Unicamp's undergraduate, extension, specialization and postgraduate courses, with responsibility for post-doctoral studies, which boosts research projects in them in a very special way. developed.
They organize, host and participate in important national and international scientific events, in their areas of activity.
They are responsible for publishing periodicals and collections of national and international circulation, including electronic ones, and for publishing works in periodicals of relevance in the their areas of activity.
It maintains a bibliographic and documentary collection, in some cases unique in the country.
Among its visitors and guests, renowned researchers from Brazil and abroad are welcomed.
Maintains agreements and academic collaboration contracts with important Brazilian and foreign institutions.
Several of them carry out significant service provision activities, including to the Unicamp community.
