How Search works
Uppercase, Lowercase and Accents
Searches are not case sensitive. All words, regardless of how they are written, will be understood as lowercase. For example, searching for "yearbook", "YEARBOOK" or "YEARBOOK" will show the same results. Searches are not sensitive to accents or umlauts.
Ignored Words
The search ignores common words and characters. Terms such as "http" and ".com" will automatically be discarded, as well as digits or letters alone. These terms rarely help the search, and can slow it down considerably.
Basic Search
To perform a search, simply type one or more words and press the "Enter" key (or click Search).
Search Refinement
The search only returns pages that include all of your search terms. There is no need to include "and" between terms. To narrow a search, simply include more terms. To include a word in the search result, you can use the "+" sign immediately in front of the term that should be included. You can exclude a word from the search result by typing a negative "-" sign immediately in front of the term that should be excluded. There cannot be space between the negative sign and the word to be deleted. Ex: Articles + Human Behavior - Study, the pages that contain the words Articles, Behavior and Human will be displayed, and that do not contain the word Study.
Search by Phrases
You can search for phrases by typing them in quotation marks ("). Ex: If we search for "Study of Human Behavior", all the pages that contain exactly this phrase will be displayed and the pages containing words that appear randomly anywhere in the text. You can also include a "+" sign when searching for phrases. Ex: In the search above, if "Estudo do Comportamento Humano" + Brasil is typed, all pages that contain exactly this phrase and that also contain the word Brazil will be displayed. You can also include the "-" sign when searching for phrases. A space must be included before the negative sign. There cannot be space between the negative sign and the word to be deleted. Ex: In the search above, if "Estudo do Comportamento Humano" -Brasil is typed, all pages that contain exactly this phrase and that do not contain the word Brazil will be returned.
The internal search in a selected text, the result of the keyword search, must be done using the word search on the page itself: Edit...Find option (Ctrl + F).
