The Permanent Commission for Entrance Exams (Comvest) at Unicamp is releasing the balance of applications for the 2025 Entrance Exam. The Commission registered 63.004 applicants, a number slightly lower (2%) than that registered last year, but still higher than the rates registered in entrance exams in previous years. Candidates compete for 2.537 places in 69 undergraduate courses. In the 2024 Entrance Exam, the number of students registered was 64.706; in 2023, 61.626; in 2022, 63.301.
Among the most sought-after courses in the 2025 Unicamp Entrance Exam, the demand for careers in the area of Computing stands out, with three courses among the 10 most sought-after in the Entrance Exam: Computer Science (73 candidates per vacancy), Computer Engineering (42 c/v) and Technology in Systems Analysis and Development (22 c/v). The 10 most sought-after careers in the 2025 Entrance Exam are: Medicine; Computer Science; Architecture and Urbanism; Biological Sciences; Computer Engineering; Pharmacy; Social Communication-Medialogy; Economic Sciences (full-time and night-time); History and Technology in Systems Analysis and Development. The table with the competition by course is available at Unicamp 2025 Entrance Exam page.
According to Comvest director José Alves de Freitas Neto, the total number of applicants was within Comvest’s expectations, as it followed the trend of recent years. “We are very pleased with the result and happy that more than 63 thousand students want Unicamp as their undergraduate option. We hope that candidates prepare themselves with all their strength in this final stretch for the first phase, which will be held on October 20th,” he said.
Coaching Career
For the first time, Unicamp has opened a career for trainees in its entrance exam, aimed at students who will not complete high school by the end of 2024, registering 5.710 students in the three options offered, with 2.542 candidates for Biological Sciences, 2.123 for Exact Sciences and 1.045 for Human Sciences. “This allows us to observe more clearly how many candidates are competing for real places. In addition, the specific career allows trainees to better adapt to the entrance exam”, highlighted Neto. The director of Comvest also highlighted that the new category allowed for a more realistic candidate-placement ratio in each course, as it exclusively reflects candidates competing for places for enrollment. This year, the average candidate-placement ratio dropped from 25,5 to 21,8.
In Recife, where Comvest will hold its entrance exam for the first time, 583 applicants were registered, a number considered satisfactory by the Commission. “The number is quite positive, considering the unprecedented nature of the exam in the capital of Pernambuco,” said Neto. Together, the capitals of the Northeast region where the Unicamp Entrance Exam is held (Fortaleza, Recife and Salvador) had a total of 3.093 applicants.
Inclusion
The percentage of candidates who received an exemption from the application fee increased from 13,7% last year to 15,3% this year, with 9.712 candidates. Another inclusion figure that also showed a slight increase was that of students who self-identified as black and brown, which rose from 20,5% to 21%, with 13.198 applicants. The other social inclusion rates remained practically unchanged from the previous year.
Among the students who completed their entire high school education in the public system, 13,8 thousand candidates have already chosen to automatically register for the Enem-Unicamp modality, available on the Unicamp 2025 Entrance Exam form. The number represents an adhesion of 87% of candidates with the profile to make the choice.
