According to Silva, the award is a recognition of academic and scientific excellence and is named after one of the founders of AAOMP and one of the main architects of the specialty in North America. The professor highlighted the special significance of the honor for his work. “This achievement has great symbolic value because it was awarded to a Brazilian professional in a field historically led by centers in the northern hemisphere,” he celebrated.

Silva says he shares this honor with everyone who has been part of his academic and family journey. “I would especially like to thank the teams in the areas of stomatology and pathology who share the daily work of teaching, research, university extension, clinical care and academic administration,” he says.
