According to the survey, the university achieved maximum scores in the indicators of academic reputation, articles per faculty member, and web impact, thus maintaining its third-place ranking among the best universities in Latin America. In other evaluation criteria, Unicamp performs very well, such as its international research network (score of 99,9), corporate reputation (96,9), and the relationship between faculty and PhDs (99,6). "The ranking consolidates Unicamp as one of the three best universities in Latin America, as indicated by its reputation and academic indicators," said Professor Fernando Sarti, Provost for University Development (PRDU). "Unicamp achieved this position among the top three in Latin America in both the THE and QS rankings, which are the most widely used rankings in Brazil and internationally," Sarti noted.

The QS WUR: Latin America & The Caribbean is a ranking that aims to evaluate and highlight the most influential universities in the region, considering criteria such as academic reputation, research impact, internationalization, employability, and sustainability.

The data used to rank universities in the region is the same as that used in the global rankings – the QS World University Rankings. However, there are some differences in the indicators and their weightings. The academic indicators involved the analysis of 19,8 publications and 200 citations from around the world. To compile the reputation rankings, 1,5 million nominations from academic researchers and 520 from employers were compiled. Following trends in global rankings, there was an increase of 58 new institutions, 34 of which were Brazilian.

According to Renato Garcia, PRDU's faculty advisor, the top scores in the indicators for academic reputation, articles by faculty, and online impact "demonstrate the institution's academic and scientific strength, as well as its digital visibility." The good performance in other areas, he adds, confirms the university's strong international presence, highlights Unicamp's positive perception in the job market, and reflects the qualifications of its faculty.

"The QS reputation indicators are divided into academic reputation and corporate reputation. Unicamp achieved the highest score in the academic reputation indicator and a very high score of 96,9 in the corporate reputation indicator. This indicator demonstrates how Unicamp is viewed both among researchers at other universities and the excellent recognition Unicamp enjoys in the job market," concludes the professor.
