The awards ceremony for the third edition of the Unicamp Outstanding Alumni Award was held this Monday, December 15th. A total of 40 awards were distributed: 22 in the undergraduate category, 17 in the postgraduate category, and one in the technical course category. Rector Paulo Cesar Montagner highlighted the celebratory moment. “You are ambassadors of Unicamp, demonstrating in your practical lives the impact of the education you received here. Each professional achievement, each leadership role, and each contribution reinforces the role of a public, free, and high-quality university.”

For Montagner, the Alumni Award is a moment to not only receive recognition, but also to reconnect with friends and reaffirm bonds. "The winners are a living part of our history and our mission, of our commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility."

The general coordinator of Unicamp, Fernando Coelho, praised the initiative. “I am certain that this award is here to stay. This reunion is a moment to establish a very powerful network and reinforce the sense of belonging. I congratulate all the award recipients.”

The Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies, Cláudia Morelli, highlighted the well-deserved tribute. “It’s always gratifying to know where our alumni are, what they’re doing, and the role they’re playing in society. We recognize each one’s journey, and this award is a way to value everything they’ve experienced both here and outside the University.”

Mônica Cotta, Vice-Rector for Undergraduate Studies, emphasized that the award values quality education and critical thinking. "We need this external feedback from those who bring perspectives and demands from society."

Renata Altenfelder, faculty advisor at the Executive Directorate for Student Support (Deape), emphasized that the award broadens professional visibility, strengthens the University's image, and encourages repeat business, in addition to contributing to employability. "Unicamp is built upon its students at different levels of education, but it is through its alumni that this construction projects itself through time and space," she stated.
