Unicamp Network is included in the Capes Global.edu program.

Partnership with four other higher education institutions aims to strengthen the internationalization of Brazilian postgraduate studies.

A network led by Unicamp and formed by the universities of the State of Amazonas (UEA), State of Feira de Santana (UEFS), State of Mato Grosso (Unemat) and State of Santa Catarina (Udesc) was selected to receive resources under the Networks for Institutional Internationalization Program – Capes Global.edu. The list of candidates, released last Tuesday (27), includes 23 recommended projects classified by grade. The investment forecast for all projects is around R$ 350 million per year. The offer includes scholarships in Brazil and abroad, support for participation in scientific events and international work missions.

The announcement of the final results is scheduled for February 27th, with activities estimated to begin this year and last until 2031. Applicants may appeal the results until February 6th.

O Capes Global.edu The goal is to integrate institutions with different levels of internationalization, promoting scientific collaboration between Brazilian universities and international partners. The objective is to strengthen the internationalization of Brazilian postgraduate studies. Each network should consist of four to six institutions, with one coordinating institution and the others associated, structured around strategic themes.

According to the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies at Unicamp, Cláudia Morelli, the proposal for the Capes Global.edu call for proposals was developed through collaboration between the Vice-Rectorate for Graduate Studies (PRPG), its Graduate Programs (PPGs), the Executive Directorate of International Relations (Deri), and the national partner institutions that make up the network. The proposal is organized into five integrating thematic axes, under the theme "Sustainability and its Impact on the Territory: Strategic Intersections".

“This result reflects the collective work of the Graduate Programs at Unicamp, the partner universities, and the leaders of the thematic areas, responsible for the academic and scientific articulation of the network,” celebrates Morelli. Furthermore, the pro-rector highlights that various actors, at different levels of institutional action, were fundamental to the construction of a network project involving five national higher education institutions and more than 30 international partners.

“All of this strengthens international cooperation and promotes advanced training. The network creates new opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction, expanding the possibilities for training, research, and knowledge production with academic and social impact,” assesses Morelli.
