- Number of jobs: Number of works (articles) cited in the SciELO database
- Indicator generation date: Date of generation of the researcher's production indicators
- Author name format(s) used in the query to obtain total citations: Search argument, that is, the way(s) you performed the search to find your name. 2. How to find Production Indicators in SciELO
2.1 Search / Results
1. Access the SciELO website: http://www.scielo.br
2. Click on “author index”
3. Enter part of the name of the desired author or search for the initial letter
4. Select the correct author. If there are other ways of writing the name, other names (maiden name, for example), click “next” to add them. Add as many names as you want. When finished, click on “search”. To include other search arguments, click “add”
5. Your search results screen will open. Check that all articles are yours and that there are no missing articles.
6. If necessary, perform the search again using the “Refine” link.
2.2 How to get the total number of citations
1. SciELO does not yet have an option that displays the total number of citations, so it is necessary to do this total manually for each of the articles listed in the results screen using the links “abstract in portuguese | english” or “text in portuguese”
2. After clicking on one of the links (“abstract in portuguese | english” or “text in portuguese”), a screen will open containing the summary or full text of the article depending on the link selected. Look for the “Indicators” item in the menu on the right side of the screen (“Services on Demand” => “Indicators” ). Click on the arrow icon to expand the options for this item.
3. The “Indicators” item has 2 options: “Cited by CiELO” and “Access Statistics”. To check how many times a given article has been cited by other works, click on the “Cited by SciELO” link. If the link is enabled, it means that there are citations for the article in question. Click on this link and another screen will open with a list of works that cite the article in question. Count citations and repeat the process for the other articles listed on the results screen.
