The discovery of the merger of two neutron stars by the Ligo interferometer instrument, from the United States, one of the most important in the history of science, was in collaboration with the Dark Energy Survey project, which includes Brazilian researchers. Among them is the teacher at Unicamp Flavia Sobreira, supported by the Interinstitutional e-Astronomy Laboratory (LineA) and the National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT).
