Summary
Critic Alfredo Suppia, professor of cinema at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), in an article published about Adirley's film, gives clues about the reasons for this recent success: the "Third World cyberpunk", which uses a more decadent aesthetic and brings a new vision in which, for peripheral populations, "there is no alternative than the use of waste as technology, in a markedly post-colonial context (in an Ibero-American context)". For him, "White Leaves, Black Stays" paves the way and left its mark through its discourse (the political use of science fiction) and style.
