Since 2014, Unicamp, USP, ITA and Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia received support from the PSA Group (Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel) and Fapesp to found the Engineering Research Center (CPE) Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf -- the name pays homage to the deceased scientist in 1998, considered the father of the ethanol engine in Brazil.
