Recently, the researcher and professor at Unicamp Sirio Posseti highlighted that the only gender marking is feminine. “The names [nouns] with a gender mark, in Portuguese, coincide exactly with those we are used to considering feminine. All other cases would be considered genderless (including names considered masculine),” she says.
