PhD in education from Unicamp, with a degree in history and a master's degree in education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Guacira Lopes Louro was the founder of GEERGE (Education and Gender Relations Study Group) at UFRGS, where she continues to work as a researcher. She has several publications in the area of gender, sexuality and education in national and foreign magazines and books.
