Leandro Manera, professor at the Department of Semiconductors, Instruments and Photonics at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), highlights the limitations of using the technological solution. “The article itself says that it cannot be used in many places.” But he emphasizes that this is a recent field of research, with many uses to be explored. Last year, for example, Manera supervised a master's degree project that used a different approach: the research added the substance responsible for photosynthesis to a conventional panel, increasing its efficiency.
