Summary
The structure of the possible Piratininga impado crater is difficult to see for those traveling along the SP-225 highway. There is no impacting body fragment. According to professor Carlos Roberto de Souza, from Unicamp, the tropical climate, predominant in most of Brazil, favors the action of weathering (a set of mechanical, chemical and biological processes that cause the disintegration and decomposition of rocks), in addition to erosion and the generation of thick soils, completely altering the fragments of the meteorite, especially if it is metallic.
