Summary
How can the architecture and physical organization of a school influence student learning? According to Doris Kowaltowski, professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism at Unicamp, the school environment functions as the “third teacher”. The physical space influences the way people live in it and also stimulates and facilitates teaching. For Doris, the architectural project must dialogue with the school's pedagogy and construction must be carried out in partnership with the school community.
