Summary
Historically, Brazilian mathematics radiated from two centers: Impa and USP. The impact of USP, and also of Unicamp, in São Paulo it is evident, as well as in other parts of the country. In the 1990s, there was a process of capillarization, with the emergence of postgraduate courses in centers in the Northeast, North and Central-West.
