Summary
In relation to culture as a means of resistance, sociologist Marcelo Ridenti, from Unicamp, remembers that “it is very important not to separate culture from politics when talking about 1968”. He cites the example of concrete artists, such as Sérgio Ferro and Claudio Tozzi, who, “since the beginning of the 1960s, evoked Mayakovsky to say that a revolution began through form”. At the 1967 São Paulo Biennial, for example, concretists were inspired by pop art to create politicized reinterpretations, points out Ridenti.
