Artificial intelligence algorithms developed by computer scientist Anderson de Rezende Rocha, professor at the Computing Institute of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), have assisted investigations carried out by the Federal Police. Rocha specializes in creating forensic computing and artificial intelligence tools capable of detecting subtleties in digital documents that are often imperceptible to the naked eye. “The technology helps the expert, for example, to confirm whether a certain photo or video related to a crime is genuine,” says Rocha.
