Summary
Compact, functional, resistant to radiation and very Brazilian. This is the Sampa chip, developed by researchers from USP and Unicamp to replace the electronic circuits of the Time Projection Chamber and Muon Chamber systems, integral parts of Alice, one of the six experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), in Switzerland. To give you an idea: today, Alice operates with 500 collisions between lead cores per second. In two years, scientists expect to generate 50 collisions.
