Pugliesi used his talent to earn extra income in another sector, advertising, and began composing arrangements for advertising pieces. But, until 2002, he worked and survived as a professor in the Department of Music at Unicamp, and only left there when he retired. Today, he says he wouldn't even be recognized if he went there. But he admits that he has had the immense pleasure of helping to train hundreds of musicians.
