Summary
According to Rosana Baeninger, a specialist in migration and refuge at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), the tendency for the interior of São Paulo and the whole of Brazil is to continue receiving refugees, as countries in the northern hemisphere have increasingly closed themselves off to receive them. "The more restricted entry into the United States, Canada and European countries, the countries of the South will tend to welcome this migration. And Brazil has been the country in which this migration has arrived and has expanded this diversification of refugee communities in the country and in São Paulo."
