Summary

Currently, according to different surveys, the railway accounts for 15% to 20% of the Brazilian freight transport matrix and the highway, around 60%. Ideally, there would be a greater balance between modes, as occurs in other countries. According to the professor at the Department of Geotechnics and Transport at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism at Unicamp, Carlos Alberto Bandeira Guimarães, Brazil should review the expansion plan, not only for rail transport, but also for other modes.
