International distributed generation event ends with debate on business models

Walmir Freitas, professor at Unicamp, presented the Solar Telhados project, which consists of 231 photovoltaic systems totaling approximately 850 kWp (kilowatts-peak) in consumer units served by secondary networks. The project lasts four years (10/2014 – 09/2018) and involves an investment of R$14,8 million. “The main technical impacts observed were: deterioration of power factor values ​​and violations of the upper service voltage limits (overvoltage), voltage unbalance limits and thermal limits of conductors”, listed Freitas. Given the result, the main recommendation was in relation to voltage control, reactive power compensation and load transfer procedures.
