The General Immigration Coordination of the Ministry of Labor authorized the entry of 2.017 immigrants into the State of São Paulo in the first quarter of this year. The number represents an average of 22 per day. Between January and March 2017 this number was even higher: 2.637. However, according to the Refugee Migration Atlas, prepared by Unicamp (University of Campinas), 55% of refugee women currently living in the state do not have employment in the labor market or are in precarious jobs.
