Summary
In the first half of the year, the balance is positive (392,4 thousand more vacancies), yet it is far short of the triumphalist palace predictions and the 3 million formal jobs that evaporated in the last three years. “The June result inspires a lot of concern, because it is a month that usually opens vacancies, not closes them. Contrary to what the government has said, there is no tendency for the job market to recover”, warns José Dari Krein, professor at the Institute of Economics of Unicamp and researcher at the Center for Trade Union and Labor Economic Studies.
