Permanent Forum on Education and Challenges of Teaching

Permanent Forum

The next Permanent Forum on Education and Challenges of Teaching will have as its theme Scientific training at level: experiences and challenges. Organized by professor André Pasti, from Colégio Técnico de Campinas (Cotuca), the forum will be held on March 28th, starting at 9 am, at the Unicamp Convention Center.

Scientific training carried out in high school is essential to develop skills linked to research and the scientific method, to introduce students at this stage of training to the possibilities of academic careers and to awaken interest in science. Several programs, inside and outside public universities, have worked on this training. The expansion of projects developed and scientific initiation programs at secondary level accompanies challenges for teachers who are responsible for guiding these activities at secondary level. This event aims to create a moment of exchange and reflection to advance scientific research practices in high school and enable contact with experiences developed in other institutions. Furthermore, in a context of secondary education reform, it aims to understand the main challenges posed by the changes underway.

In the morning the first table will be Experiences and challenges of mid-level scientific initiation at the University, with the presence of professors Fernando Coelho (Pro-Rector of Research at Unicamp), Vanessa Bavaresco and Giselle Aparecida Martins (Cotuca). The debate will then take place Scientific education and project-based teaching in high school, with Maria Inês Petrucci-Rosa (from the Department of Teaching and Cultural Practices of the Faculty of Education) and Cristiane Maria Megid (Cotuca).

In the afternoon the table is scheduled High school scientific initiation and project-based teaching experiences, with professors Miguel del Barco (from the São Paulo State Technical School), Marcia Serrati Moreno (Conselheiro Antonio Prado de Campinas Technical School - ETECAP), Jodir Pereira and André Pasti (Cotuca). And the last space will be for debate The reform of secondary education and the challenges for Brazilian education, with Eduardo Girotto (Department of Geography at the Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences at USP), Josianne Cerasoli (Department of History at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences) and Edson Joaquim dos Santos (Cotuca).
