Panel of the week


 National Museum Week - The Unicamp Exploratory Science Museum participates, from May 12th to 18th, in the 12th National Museum Week with the Desafio Workshop, art and nanoadventure exhibitions, star observation and visits to the “Tempo Espaço” and “Clima Tempo” squares. Lectures and musical performances are on the schedule. National Museum Week is organized by the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram). More details in link 

 Unimedia - From the 12th to the 15th of May, Unimídia takes place, an event held annually by students of the Social Communication course with a Qualification in Medialogy at the Institute of Arts (IA) at Unicamp. This edition will address the relationship between individuals and media technologies. The objective of the event is to develop reflections and discussions on relevant topics in the area, in addition to showing what is accomplished in the course to the internal and external community.  Workshop with Renato Hohl Orsi - Between May 12th and 16th, the Faculty of Food Engineering (FEA) organizes the theoretical-practical workshop “Molecular subtyping and analysis of genomic sequences applied to studies of pathogenic microorganisms”. It will be taught by Renato Hohl Orsi, bachelor in Biological Sciences from Unicamp in (2001). The event takes place in the FEA Noble Hall, from 8 am to 18 pm. More details: 19-3521-2174.

 Workshop with Dharam Ahluwalia - The Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computing (Imecc) hosts, from the 12th to the 16th of May, the second edition of the International Workshop on Elko and Mass Dimension One Fermions, organized by professor Dharam Ahluwalia, participant of the Foreign Visiting Professor Program ( PPVE) at Imecc.  (De)regulate studying at University? Elementary my dear watson! - Lecture will be given by professor Pedro Rosário, on May 12th, at 12:15 pm, in room CB02 of the Basic Cycle. The organization and the Educational Guidance Sector of the Student Support Service (SAE) at Unicamp. Rosário is one of the authors of the program “Cartas do Gervásio ao seu Umbigo”.  Solidarity Economy Fair - The Coordination of Community Affairs (CAC), a body of the Dean of Extension and Community Affairs (Preac), organizes, on May 13th, from 9 am to 17 pm, on Rua dos Flamboyants (between the Administrative Restaurant and the Engineering building Basic), another edition of the Solidarity Economy Fair. The event is held in partnership with the Campinas Solidarity Economy Network.  IE receives Franklin Leon Peres Serrano - The Institute of Economics (IE) welcomes professor Franklin Leon Peres Serrano (UFRJ) on May 13th, at 14 pm, in the Jorge Tápia Auditorium. In a talk, he will discuss a line of Sraffian research that sees potential output growth as led by growth in autonomous expenditure that does not create capacity while productive investment is induced and income distribution is exogenously determined.  Workshop with Wiley editors - The Writing Space, a strategic project of the General Coordination of the University (CGU), promotes on May 14th, from 9 am to 13 pm, in auditorium 05 of the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM), the workshop “Increasing the chances of publishing your article in high-impact international journals”. It will be taught by Thomas Ward, editor-in-chief of Headache: the Journal of Head and Face Pain and by Carolina Novo da Silva, assistant editor and former Unicamp student, both from Wiley. The seminar will be held in English and Portuguese, and is aimed at professors, researchers and postgraduate students at Unicamp.  Second generation bioethanol? - On May 15th, at 9 am, in the auditorium of the Unicamp Convention Center, there will be an edition of the Permanent Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation with the theme “Where are we in the development of second generation bioethanol?”.  Tributes - On May 16, at 9:30 am, in the Congregation Room, the board of directors of the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FCM) will pay tribute to teachers and staff who retired from July 2013 to March 2014. Posthumous tributes will also be paid on that day. to Professor Luiz Jacintho da Silva, former Secretary of Health of Campinas. 

 Art, politics and youth in a round table - The Laboratory for Studies on Violence, Imaginary and Youth at the Faculty of Education (FE) promotes the round table “Art, Politics and Youth”, on May 16th, at 19 pm, in the FE Main Hall. The event brings together researchers on youth issues for debate. Those interested in participating can register for free at link 

 “Cesar Lattes” Physics Workshop - The event takes place on May 17th, at the “Gleb Wataghin” Institute of Physics (IFGW) at Unicamp. It will address the theme “Physical Engineering in Brazil: challenges and opportunities”. The workshop will feature speakers involved in the area of ​​physical engineering, who work both in academia and in the private sector. Among the speakers, the workshop will feature physicist Regis T. Neuenschwander, leader of the project group at the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS). He will talk about job opportunities for physical engineers at LNLS. In another lecture, Pascoal Pagliuso, coordinator of the Physics Engineering Course, will present the structure of this new course offered by Unicamp. The complete program is at website
