Panel of the week


 Work analogous to slavery: academic and political challenges - Public Policy and Citizenship Forum takes place on November 19th, at 9 am, at the Unicamp Convention Center. The event is under the responsibility of professor Silvia Hunold Lara. The forum proposes dialogue between the academic community and public agents and activists, who work to combat slavery-like work in Brazil. It seeks to arouse the interest of Unicamp students and teachers in a burning topic, which involves debates that permeate Brazilian society with international repercussions. The event is part of the activities of the Thematic Project “Between slavery and the burden of freedom: workers and forms of labor exploitation in historical perspective”, based at Cecult-IFCH.  Afrikanize - Formed by dancers from the Dance course at Unicamp's Institute of Arts (IA), the group “Afrikanizar” gives a free performance, on November 19th, at 13 pm, in the auditorium of the “Cesar Lattes” Central Library (BC-CL).  1st thesis defense in Biosciences and Technology of Bioactive Products - On November 19th, at 14 pm, in the thesis defense room (Block O) of the Biology Institute (IB) at Unicamp, the first defense of a doctoral thesis of the Postgraduate Program in Biosciences and Technology of Bioactive Products will take place from IB. The thesis “Prospecting for bioactive substances in Pfaffia townsendii and Pfaffia tuberosa (Gomphreneae, Amaranthaceae)” will be defended by student Wallace Ribeiro Costa.  Literature competition - The Engineering and Architecture Area Library (BAE) at Unicamp will receive, until November 20th, works for the II Literature Competition (chronicle genre) “Technology and collective happiness”. The competition is open to students from Unicamp’s Engineering and Architecture faculties. The winner will be announced on December 11th, the date on which Engineer's Day is celebrated.
