Startup FM2S helps professionals on their training path for the corporate market
A FM2S Education and Consulting, a startup hosted at Unicamp's Scientific and Technological Park, has just created an algorithm that connects professional education to the main vacancies sought by the market. Through statistical analysis of the prerequisites required by hundreds of vacancies, the algorithm maps the most demanded skills and abilities for each corporate area. It then suggests to the student which training FM2S is best suited to achieving your goals. “So far, the model maps data in the areas of quality, projects, industry, logistics and processes and operational excellence. With this, we obtain accurate and solid information about the most in-demand skills for these careers and their positions, whether entry-level or leadership. This involves so much hard skills, with technical knowledge, such as soft skills, which encompass skills such as empathy, routine management and assertive communication”, exemplifies Virgilio Marques dos Santos, former student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FEM-Unicamp) and one of the founders of FM2S.
Based on the algorithm's notes, the startup analyzed skills and abilities worked on in each of its courses and filled a gap: it allowed data to be crossed between vacancies and courses, creating development paths that precisely address the most demanded characteristics for certain areas. and positions.
Thus, the startup started to offer specific training plans, aimed at analysts, coordinators, managers and even specialists. “The student follows a path already developed by our startup, which helps them prepare for the demands of the market. Upon completing each training module, the professional has an 80 to 90% chance of being successful in obtaining a position in the chosen career or vacancy. With this, he only learns what he needs to achieve what he dreams of”, highlights Virgilio.
Exponential growth: from 10 thousand to 200 thousand students in two years
Created in 2016, FM2S has seen its number of students grow exponentially since 2020. According to Virgilio, the startup is a pioneer in online courses, offering the modality before the pandemic. But from 2020 onwards, the demand for distance learning courses increased, and, as it already offered courses in this model, the company went from 10 to 200 students in just two years.
Virgilio's objective, when creating the startup with his brother, Murilo Marques dos Santos, also a former student at FEM-Unicamp, was to leverage the progress of his students, providing an educational experience based on solid concepts, practical examples and language simple. With this, the EdTech (company that uses innovative technologies in the educational sector) managed to bridge the gap between the desired role and training. “The student will only take the course that makes sense to achieve the position of their dreams”, reinforces Virgilio.
The company's strategic location – within the Unicamp Scientific and Technological Park – further strengthens the culture of innovation, together with technology and education, reinforcing FM2S's status as a startup edtech.
“We had an old dream of creating a company that put academic theory into practice. After the first consultancies, achievements and setbacks, we got down to business and offered the Green Belt, with internationally recognized certification. It was a game changer: the course brings knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma methodology, one of the most requested in the world, with advantages such as reducing costs, eliminating problems and improving processes and customer services”, points out Virgilio.
Subsequently, the startup developed other training, including everything from Lean Six Sigma – from White to Master Black Belt – and more than 80 others, in the areas of Process Management, Data Visualization, Project Management and Career and Leadership.
By expanding its range of activities, FM2S also increased its team and network of collaborators and continued with its purpose: to enable students to leave a class already applying their knowledge. “Today, 98,62% of the 200 thousand active students on the platform are employed, and the monitoring carried out by our tool detected that, in the last three months, 50% of them had promotions”, celebrates Murilo, who holds the position of Director of Education from FM2S.
For the future, the company has prospects of partnering with universities, such as Unicamp itself, to continue the development of its algorithm. machine learning algorithm , seeking standards for other areas of knowledge. “Innovation, education and technology need to go together to offer much more than scattered courses; The focus is to promote real development of people, supporting the careers of the country’s future professionals”, concludes Murilo.
