Unicamp and the Zambeze University (UniZambeze), in Mozambique, signed an academic, scientific and cultural cooperation agreement on Wednesday afternoon (30). The signing ceremony took place at the Unicamp Convention Center, at the end of the 6th Forum Conference on Higher Education Management in Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions, an event that started on the 28th (Monday). The terms of cooperation were signed by the rector of Unicamp, José Tadeu Jorge, and the rector of Zambeze University, Nobre Roque dos Santos. This agreement will be valid for five years and may be renewable, depending on the interest of the parties involved in the partnership.
The terms of cooperation include carrying out research; mobility of students and teachers; participation in applications for international programs; promotion, execution and dissemination of studies, projects, research and the like; organization and holding of events; and exchange of periodicals, works and scientific results.
Zambezi University is located in the city of Beira, capital of Sofala province. The institution began its activities in 2009 and is a public higher education institution maintained by the government of Mozambique. It currently offers 26 undergraduate courses.
