In a ceremony held last Thursday (23/2), the rector of Unicamp, José Tadeu Jorge, and the coordinator of the Permanent Commission for Entrance Exams (Comvest), Edmundo Capelas de Oliveira, formalized the laying of the cornerstone of the new headquarters from Comvest. Work is scheduled to begin this semester, after finalizing the final technical details of the project, according to Comvest.
The new building will occupy an area next to the current headquarters of the Entrance Examination Commission and will have a useful area of 2.617 square meters - much larger than the current one and prepared, therefore, to house all phases of correction of the entrance exam tests, which today require be corrected in other spaces at the university. “The work will provide our university with an appropriate headquarters for entrance exam work”, stated the dean of undergraduate studies, Luís Alberto Magna.
The building will have a ground floor and three other floors of approximately 650 square meters each. According to the technical team, the structure will be prefabricated, like the current buildings at Unicamp.
For rector José Tadeu Jorge, the launch of the work marks an extremely relevant moment in the history of the entrance exam. “Speaking of the cornerstone of Comvest is a pleonasm, as the cornerstone of our university is the entrance exam”, highlighted Tadeu Jorge.
According to Capelas de Oliveira, the forecast is that once started, the works will be completed in around nine months. According to him, the work on the new building is the result of the dedication of the entire Comvest team.
