Unicamp TV program highlights National Olympics in Brazilian History

The 9th edition of the National Olympiad in History of Brazil (ONHB) is open for registration until April 28th. Coordinated by professors Cristina Meneguello and Alessandra Pedro, from the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences at Unicamp, the initiative has several online stages and an in-person final with public and private schools across the country. In 2016, the Olympics brought together more than forty thousand students from all states, with significant participation from the Northeast region. This year, the organization expects the number of registrants to be even greater. The objective goes beyond awarding medals to the teams: the focus is on improving History teaching, encouraging the development of critical analysis and discussions between students and teachers. In the Registro Geral program, produced by TV Unicamp, Meneguello gives more details about this year's ONHB.
