The Central Archive of the Archive System (Siarq), the Center for Logic, Epistemology and History of Science (CLE), the Memory Center, the Edgard Leuenroth Archive and the “Alexandre Eulalio” Cultural Documentation Center (Cedae), all from Unicamp, will participate, between June 5th and 10th, in the XNUMXst National Archives Week, organized by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, National Archives, Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa and Ministry of Culture. During the week, archival institutions and memory and documentation centers across the country will be open for culture and dissemination of their work, with the aim of increasing the visibility of archives and their insertion in society.
Three activities are planned to take place at Unicamp organized by Siarq. On June 6th, Sílvia Fernanda de Mendonça Figueirôa, professor at the Faculty of Education (FE), talks about "Archives, history of science and technology" in the training wing of the Engineering and Architecture Area Library (BAE), of 14 to 16 p.m. On that day, there will also be the exhibition “The first scientists at Unicamp”, which can be visited until June 9th, from 7:30 am to 22:45 pm, on the first floor of the Cesar Lattes Central Library (BCCL). In addition, the seminar "Archives, citizenship and interculturalism" is scheduled for June 9th, in the auditorium of the Public Archives in São Paulo, from 14 pm to 18 pm, whose objective is to disseminate to society the strategic importance of the organization and preservation of archives. Its target audience is professionals in the area of archives, frequent users of archives and the general public.
Within the CLE program, on the first day of June, there will be the exhibition "Thinkers of Science", which runs until June 9, and a lecture on "Archive in the history of sciences: research and documentary arrangement", with the presence of the historian responsible Eliane Morelli Abrahão. It takes place on the 9th, from 10 am to 12 pm, in the CLE auditorium (Rua Sérgio Buarque de Holanda, 251).
The Edgard Leuenroth Archive (AEL), from the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH), will present two exhibitions: Poesias de Cordel (Directed by: AEL/IFCH) and Deu Samba no Cordel (Directed by: Cedae/IEL), from the 5th to the 10th of June. On the 5th, an Afternoon of Knowledge will be promoted at AEL, at 14 pm, with Humberto Innarelli (AEL), Silvia Modena (AEL) and Roberta Botelho (Cedae). On the 6th and 7th, an open workshop on "Introduction to conservation and preservation of photographs" will be held with Marli Marcondes (CMU) and Castorina Madureira (AEL). The event will be from 9 am to 12 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17 pm, at CMU. On the 8th, at 15 pm, the Literary Soiree will take place at AEL with a Cordel recital, poetry and typical foods with the Brazilian Poet Portal. On the 9th, at 15:30 pm, a celebration will take place between the University's archives to close the 1st National Archives Week. Follow the activities of AEL.
Cedae also participates in the 1st National Archives Week. Between June 5th and 10th, it opens the archives for culture, giving visibility to the country's documentary heritage. Cedae will participate in the event, in partnership with AEL and CMU, with the exhibition “Deu Samba no Cordel” and with a conversation about research sources.
For the occasion, CMU organized the exhibition Discover the Unicamp Memory Center from June 5th to 20th, from 8 am to 22:30 pm in the lobby of the 'Cesar Lattes' Central Library (BCCL). Entry is free. BCCL is located at Rua Sérgio Buarque de Holanda, 421, Cidade Universitária.
On the 6th and 7th of June, a free workshop will be offered by the CMU at the Conservation and Restoration Laboratory of the Memory Center, taught by the person responsible for the sector, Marli Marcondes, together with Castorina de Camargo, from the Edgard Leuenroth Archive (AEL). There are 15 vacancies for professionals who work in the area of documentation, such as archivists, librarians, museologists, conservators and those interested in general, who will learn actions and practices for the conservation and preservation of photographic sets. Each participant must bring an old photograph to use in the activities, which were organized into the following stages: diagnosis and analysis of deterioration processes, with identification of the photographic process that gave rise to the image; application of specific treatments for each photograph brought, aiming to delay ongoing degradation; and making packaging for the correct packaging of processed photographic documents. The closing of the workshop also includes a guided visit to the Edgar Leuenroth Archive, linked to the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences at Unicamp, whose collection is focused on social, political and cultural history, especially the memory of social movements.
Launch of the new CMU website - Integrating the programming of the 1st National Archives Week, the Memory Center launches, from June 5th, its new website, which in addition to presenting a modern and intuitive layout, also brings new tools and new content for the user. In a pioneering partnership with the Google Cultural Institute, CMU is the first institution in the city of Campinas to launch an exclusive channel for virtual exhibitions, which offers users the possibility of getting to know the Center's collection better without leaving home, using tools that allow them to observe details of the documents and images on display. Another new feature of the website that will be launched is the Online guide of the collection, which was developed with the aim of facilitating research on the CMU's various document sets via the Internet. In addition, an email newsletter was developed to keep users always up to date with the Center's actions and initiatives.
Week - Museum Week is one of the actions of the Archives Sector Plan (2016-2026), approved in 2016 by the National Council for Cultural Policy. The date chosen for the event is the week in which International Archives Day is celebrated, June 9th. The date was established by the General Assembly of the International Council on Archives, held in Québec, Canada, in November 2007.
