Sandro Rigo took office, this Wednesday (21), as superintendent of the Computing Center (CCUEC) and responsible for the Information Technology Coordination (CTIC) at Unicamp. In addition to the governance of the University's IT structure, Rigo took on the mission of carrying out the Digital University 2020 project, which aims to intensify the use of technologies to increase the efficiency of administrative and management processes.
The solemn session, chaired by the rector of Unicamp Marcelo Knobel, was attended by the general coordinator of Unicamp Teresa Dib Zambom Atvars, the pro-rectors Munir Salomão Skaf (from the Pro-Rector of Research - PRP) and Marisa Masumi Beppu (from Pro -Rector of University Development - PRDU), the chief of staff Joaquim Bustorff, the coordinator of the Executive Vice-Rector of Administration (Vrea) Roberto Paes, the associate superintendent Rubens Queiroz de Almeida, in addition to the professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC) José Raimundo de Oliveira, who ended his term in both positions.
“We are fully aware that IT is a fundamental aspect for the University to emerge from the financial crisis it is in. The Digital University is something we need to do”, stated Marcelo Knobel. According to the University's strategic planning (Planes 2016-2020), the Digital University involves “the transformation of paper processes into digital processes Online available for all types of access”. The computerization of administrative processes and academic management should minimize expenses and optimize time and organization.
