The State Government's total investment is approximately R$32 million, considering resources already used in works and intended for the purchase of equipment and furniture, which are in the acquisition phase. The hospital will be fully funded with resources from the state treasury, and will receive R$35,8 million in funding in its first year of operation.

The inauguration of the Piracicaba Regional is scheduled for March 2018 and its activation will be gradual, like any new health service. The complete structure covers 138 beds, of which 84 are inpatient, 20 in the Adult ICU, 27 in minimum care, 7 in Day Hospital, in addition to 10 operating rooms and the imaging diagnostic center. The total built area is more than 18,7 square meters. Initially, 60 beds will come into operation - 30 surgical, 20 clinical and 10 adult ICU - and four surgical rooms, as well as outpatient care.

In 2018, the estimate is that the Hospital will carry out more than 18,6 medical and non-medical outpatient consultations, 11,7 exams, 3,3 surgeries and 2 hospitalizations. The emergency room will be referenced, with a forecast of approximately 300 emergency visits for complications of patients previously treated by the service.

The Piracicaba Regional Hospital will be a reference in medium and high complexity for the 26 municipalities in the Piracicaba Regional Health Department (DRS) region. It will offer ten medical specialties on an outpatient basis: Orthopedics/Traumatology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Anesthesiology, Oral and Maxillofacial, and General Surgery Medical Clinic. In addition, it will provide consultations in non-medical specialties, in the areas of Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Nutrition, Psychology and Occupational Therapy.

"This agreement with Unicamp ensures quality and experience in the management of the Piracicaba Regional Hospital, a new service that will expand SUS care in the region", highlights the Secretary of Health of São Paulo, David Uip. The agreement is initially valid for five years, with the possibility of renewal.

The Piracicaba Regional Hospital is located on Avenida Antônio Elias, s/n, Jardim São Francisco.
