Researchers from the Institute of Biology (IB) and the Institute of Chemistry (IQ) at Unicamp developed a nanodrug, already tested on animals with highly promising results, which demonstrated potential in the reduction of tumors located in the urinary bladder. The drug stimulates the production of proteins, defense cells and cytokines, favoring the destruction of tumors. Regarding the importance of technology, the numbers speak for themselves: in 2016, according to data from the National Cancer Institute (INCA), the country registered 7.200 (men) and 2.470 (women) new cases of this type of cancer.
