Unicamp publicly expresses its concern with the procedure adopted by Federal Police agents, who this Wednesday (06) coercively led directors and former directors of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) to give testimony at the corporation's headquarters in Belo Horizonte.
It is strange that the procedure was adopted without prior summoning of UFMG directors to provide clarifications, as recommended by legislation.
Unicamp understands that this was an unnecessary exposure in the context of a democratic state of law and respect for the citizen's fundamental guarantees.

Abruem
The Brazilian Association of Rectors of State and Municipal Universities (ABRUEM), on behalf of a community of more than 800 thousand citizens, including students, employees and teachers, repudiates the unconstitutional action carried out this Wednesday (06) by agents of the Federal Police, illegally conducting directors and former directors of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
Possibly anchored by higher authorities, police officers repeated common attitudes of a dictatorial State, ignoring legislation and promoting, once again, an unnecessary media spectacle, forever tarnishing the professional and personal image of university leaders respected throughout the country, in an episode which is reminiscent of the recent arbitrary arrest of rector Luiz Carlos Cancellier de Olivo, of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
ABRUEM requires the government bodies involved to provide clarification regarding the reasons for coercive conduct even before a simple subpoena to provide clarification.
The rectors of the 45 universities affiliated with ABRUEM recall that Brazilian society has been reconsolidating democratic values in the Federative Republic of Brazil on a daily basis over the last 30 years. It is unacceptable that a few are self-invested with powers that go beyond the Rule of Law, intending to legitimize, it is reiterated, practices typical of a Dictatorship.

Trusts
Confies goes public to say that it closely follows events in Minas Gerais. It is known that a former dean and his former vice-rector, the current dean and vice-rector and our fellow president of Fundep, as well as one of the members of the CONFIES board.
They were PF coercive warrants given by some judge, supposedly.
In principle, these orders are abusive, as they should be preceded by a letter summoning them to provide clarifications.
The damage to the image of those called up has been done.
As in other cases, this is irreparable, given the strident behavior of the media that feeds off this financially.
We are awaiting the report from the colleagues we spoke to recently at the PF by phone and from our colleague Bruno Teatrini, a lawyer at Fundep, to make a decision about what CONFIES will do in defense of them and our affiliate. I have already informed ANDIFES.
CONFIES declares itself in solidarity with its colleagues and will continue its fight to improve the control system in a democratic environment, which preserves the individual rights of citizens enshrined in the Federal Constitution.
