Unicamp successfully completed the first cycle of the Server Relocation Program (PRS) regarding the career of Teaching, Research and Extension Support Professionals (Paepe). The process, which began in September 2017, promoted more relocations in just one round than those previously carried out by the University over the course of a year. In total, 61 employee movements were approved between teaching and research bodies and units. Of these, 30 were carried out and scheduled. “This is a very significant result”, analyzes the head of the Dean of University Development (PRDU), professor Marisa Beppu.
According to the coordinator of the General Directorate of Human Resources (DGRH), Gilmar Dias da Silva, the numbers achieved with the first cycle of the PRS are revealing of the scope and importance of the initiative. The program involved the participation of 252 employees, from practically all areas of Unicamp. In addition, 517 opportunities were submitted to PRS by teaching and research bodies and units.
Of these, 136 were granted, which corresponds to 26,3% of requests. “It is worth highlighting that the PRS does not have the purpose of meeting all the human resources needs of the units and bodies, but rather of seeking professionals from within the University itself who, when changing their workplace, can efficiently man an area without cause deprivation to another”, explains Silva.
The DGRH coordinator points out that the entire process was conducted by a Technical Analysis Committee, formed by members of the DGRH itself and the PRDU. “In addition, we counted on the collaboration of the directors of the units and agencies, who understood the objective of the PRS and agreed to establish what the priorities were within the group of employees who were applying. I think this aspect was decisive for the success of the work”, understands Silva.
The head of the DGRH adds that the first round of the PRS was a pilot project. As such, the program must undergo some changes in order to improve the relocation process. “The second cycle of the PRS should be launched in the first quarter of 2018. We will work to improve, among other aspects, the recording of applications and the granting of opportunities and interviews”, he adds.
The objective of these changes, as noted by the Dean of University Development, is to provide conditions for employees to work in jobs that best correspond to their profile and performance. “We want to make the best use of the potential of qualified personnel available in our staff, in order to rationalize as much as possible the dependence on new public tenders”, explains Marisa Beppu.
On the occasion of the launch of the PRS, the general coordinator of Unicamp, professor Teresa Atvars, highlighted that the initiative is part of the management program of the current Central Administration, which in turn is in line with the University's Strategic Planning. “By seeking an answer to the question internally, without holding public competitions, Unicamp avoids increasing its payroll expenses, at the same time that it seeks to value its professionals”, considered the director at the time. Further information about the PRS can be obtained at DGRH website.
