Brazilian public universities are essential for the production and dissemination of knowledge. The research produced is key to overcoming the country's economic and social problems, in addition to helping with technological advancement.

However, in recent times, we have seen an increase in pressure against the role of these same universities in Brazilian society and how to maintain them. What are the paths that Brazilian public universities should follow from now on?

To talk about the subject, in its latest edition, the Dialogues at USP Last week, he received professors Vahan Agopyan, recently appointed rector of USP, and Marcelo Knobel, rector of Unicamp, appointed in April last year.
