The week of reception for new students ended this Friday (2) with a presentation of the Unicamp Symphony Orchestra (OSU), in Basic Cycle 2. “This concert is an invitation for people to watch the orchestra throughout the year,” said conductor Cinthia Alireti, principal conductor and co-artistic director of OSU. “It is important that everyone knows that we have expensive and refined equipment here at Unicamp - an orchestra! Which is ours!”, she highlighted.
This year, OSU will intersperse chamber music programs with performances by the full orchestra. In addition, it will host educational and special outdoor programs. “Every month Unicamp will be presented with at least one concert”, stated Cintia. Presentations take place inside and outside the University, at Lake House and Municipal Theater “José de Castro Mendes”, Among others.

In addition to the usual spaces, OSU, in 2018, will travel throughout the city, occupying each RMC theater, through a partnership with Campinas Metropolitan Agency (Agencamp).
The next program, a chamber music concert (wind quintet), will be held at Chapel of the Holy House and Unicamp Teachers Association (Adunicamp), on March 14th and 15th. (Check the schedule below).
The conductor also recalled that the orchestra is also a research laboratory and is not restricted to the classics. “It is part of the orchestra’s project to welcome guests, including composers who use the orchestra as a laboratory to test their works and experiment with new languages.”
