"Rosin" is a type of resin used on the bow of instruments such as viola, violin, cello and acoustic double bass, in order to provide greater grip (similar to what dancers use on the soles of their shoes), maintenance of the strings, greater useful life and better sound production. This product, extracted from the pine tree, gave its name to the group of string musicians who seek Brazilianness in the interpretations of important songs or in their own compositions. The result was “Breusil Cordas Brasileiras”, a group that was born around two years at the Unicamp Arts Institute (IA). The team is coordinated by the musician and professor at the Unicamp Arts Institute, Esdras Rodrigues. “Breusil” gives its name to the first musical in a new series on TV Unicamp (SEC), which produces and edits presentations by university groups. The recording was made at Centro Cultural Casarão, in Barão Geraldo, on August 22, 2017. There are new songs by the group, such as “Downpour”, composed by Raoni Peres, violinist and Music student. There are also arrangements by Edmundo Villani Cortes, César Guerra-Peixe, Pixinguinha, Chiquinha Gonzaga, among other Brazilian artists.

Formed by professors and students from the area of strung strings (bowed instruments) at Unicamp, the group explores the repertoire of classical music with deep roots in Brazilian musical traditions. Through research, technical and stylistic experimentation, he seeks to reference his interpretations in the universes of popular culture and Brazilian urban and classical music, highlighting the defining elements of the rich national musical diversity. One of the new features is the presence of percussion in different interpretations and the deep influence of northeastern music. Gabriel Peregrino is the musical's percussionist, giving a more popular tone to the presentation, based on the sound of the zabumba, tambourine, seeds and other folk objects.

The TV program, which also airs on Canal Universitário at different times throughout the week, was technically supervised by Jorge Calhau; production by João Ricardo Boi and Jorge Calhau; images by João Ricardo Boi, Jorge Calhau, Marcos Botelho Jr, Luiz Tadeu and editing by Kleber Casabblanca, all employees of the Unicamp Communication Secretariat (SEC).
