Post-doctorate in Process Engineering has a scholarship from Fapesp and registrations are still ongoing

Fapesp Agency – A postdoctoral position with a Fapesp scholarship is available in the Thematic Project “From the Cell Factory to the Integrated Biodiesel-Bioethanol Biorefinery: a Systemic Approach Applied to Complex Problems on Micro and Macroscales”, conducted at the Faculty of Food Engineering at Unicamp. Registration must be done by today (16).

The opportunity is linked to the Fapesp Bioenergy Research Program (Bioen) and the project is coordinated by professor Roberto de Campos Giordano.

As part of their activities, the postdoctoral fellow will carry out the simulation of integrated 1G-2G bioethanol production processes in an Aspen Plus simulator associated with technical-economic analysis.

The project also covers the study of the purification of residual glycerol from biodiesel production and the thermal evaluation of this compound. Furthermore, the fellow will determine parameters and analyze models of heterogeneous catalysis and biocatalysis in biodiesel production.

Candidates must have a doctorate degree obtained no more than seven years ago, in the country or abroad. The position requires experience in analyzing phase equilibrium data (liquid-vapor equilibrium, liquid-liquid-vapor equilibrium and liquid-liquid equilibrium) and thermodynamic models, in addition to proven experience in activities such as physical-chemical and instrumental analyzes and in experiments on a laboratory scale and/or in a pilot plant in processes of interest to the project (bioethanol, biodiesel and biocompounds).

To register, the candidate must send their resume to email pd.2016106368@gmail.com. The subject of the email must include the text “PD – Process Engineering” with an attached file (pdf) of no more than 2 MB.

The selection will be based on the candidates' CV containing proven experience in the required topics through publications in the area and the potential for contribution to the Thematic Project area. The candidate will receive an email informing whether or not they have been nominated for the postdoctoral fellowship.

More information about the vacancy is available at www.fapesp.br/oportunidades/2013.

The position is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a Fapesp Post-Doctoral Scholarship worth R$ 7.174,80 per month and a Technical Reserve. The PD Scholarship Technical Reserve is equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship and is intended to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.

If the PD scholarship holder lives in a different home and needs to move to the city where the research host institution is located, they may be entitled to an Installation Grant. More information about the Fapesp Postdoctoral Fellowship is available at www.fapesp.br/bolsas/pd.

Other scholarship vacancies, in different areas of knowledge, are on the Fapesp-Oportunidades website, at www.fapesp.br/oportunidades
