Unicamp's general coordinator, professor Teresa Atvars, spoke about Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategies on the second day of Cinfotec Unicamp (Communication, Information and Technology) this Thursday, 24th, at the University's Convention Center.
The event is in its seventh edition and the objective is to bring together the University's ICT professionals to share experiences, in addition to offering opportunities for professional development. Atvars commented on the actions of the General Coordination of Unicamp (CGU) to make the Digital University 2020 project viable, included in Strategic Planning (Planes) 2016-2020.
“We are doing a lot of work to make Unicamp digital viable. Our objective at Cinfotec is to talk about efforts to involve this qualified and thematic community”, commented the general coordinator. Atvars also spoke about CGU's strategic planning and the various strategic projects in the area that are underway, including the IT Governance.
Planes describes the Digital University as a concept that was consolidated in the 2000s, with the intensification of the use of technologies to increase the organization's efficiency, mainly in its administrative and management processes. “The University will be connected, with its computerized processes and the substantial reduction in paper-based processes, in addition to good service to users in computerized systems”, he explained.

According to the professor, to achieve the objectives of the Digital University, actions must be integrated. “We are making changes in management, bringing IT management to the strategic area and thinking about organizing how we are going to achieve the objectives. It depends on cooperation between professionals and agencies and we encourage this here.”
In addition to Teresa Atvars, professor Paulo Licio De Geus – Deputy Coordinator of the Information and Communication Technology Coordination (CITIC), which promotes Cinfotec, also participated in the panel. The business development director of the company Gartner, hired by CGU, was invited to talk about the IT advisory work developed with the University administration.
