Unicamp decided to extend the suspension of all academic activities until next Wednesday (30) due to the extension of the national truck drivers' strike, which since last Monday (21) has affected supply across the country. During this period, only Central Administration activities, healthcare services and essential activities in teaching and research units will operate, as far as possible.
According to a statement released on Friday (25), most suppliers of goods and services reported that, while the movement continues, there is no guarantee of meeting the University's demands for the proper functioning of infrastructure on the campuses of Campinas, Piracicaba and Limeira.

Academic activities:
They are suspended in undergraduate, postgraduate and extension courses.
Those responsible for the different Teaching and Research units will have the autonomy to organize their administrative activities in the best possible way in order to preserve those considered essential.
It will be up to the unit directors to decide on the maintenance or postponement of activities related to thesis committees and similar, selection exams and competitions.
Restaurants:
After a reassessment of the scenario and in an effort by the Rectory to minimize the consequences of the shortages caused by the truck drivers' strike, Unicamp's Central Administration decided to maintain the operation of the University Restaurant (RU), only for lunch, today (28), tomorrow and Wednesday -fair.
Daycare centers (Dedic):
The Unicamp daycare system will not receive children until Wednesday (30).
Chartered transport:
Despite efforts to keep the system running, charter bus companies are currently unable to guarantee 100% of demand at Unicamp, as fuel supply is not expected to return to normal. It is important to highlight that, until today (28), this service runs normally.
Outsourced transport:
All activities involving the need for outsourced transport are temporarily suspended.
Health services
Despite efforts to preserve healthcare services at Unicamp, the truck drivers' strike caused additional difficulties for service providers and suppliers in the sector, imposing limited conditions for providing care to the population.
HC: Consultations, surgeries and outpatient procedures and elective exams are suspended until May 30th. Admissions for elective surgeries remain suspended. The HC management also highlights that the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Reference Units have been full since Saturday (05), which is why care is restricted to cases of extremely serious patients.
CAISM: The Unicamp Women's Hospital will try, as far as possible, to maintain service, carrying out its assistance activities depending on the presence of personnel and available supplies.
The HC management also highlights that the Adult and Pediatric Referenced Emergency Units have been full since Saturday (26), which is why care is restricted to cases of extremely serious patients.
This scenario has already been communicated to SAMU, the State's vacancy regulation system (CROSS), the Military Police Eagle Rescue system, the fire department and rescue units on the highways that cross the region.
Unicamp will continue to closely monitor the evolution of the truck driver movement and will keep the community informed about new developments.
