Communication from the Rectory to the community
Rector Marcelo Knobel remained until late afternoon this Wednesday (4) ready to start another meeting with the Unicamp Workers' Union (STU). However, until 17:30 pm, the STU representatives remained intransigent regarding the vacancy of the Rectory, which prevented the dialogue from continuing.
The Rectory reiterates its willingness to engage in dialogue, hoping that the Union will adopt a stance compatible with the university environment, which values respectful and constructive debate of ideas. The occupation of the Rectory constitutes an unacceptable pressure strategy and harms the negotiation process.
Also this Wednesday, members of the University Council (Consu) announced open letter to the population repudiating the invasion of the Rectory.
