By order of the Court, leaders of the Unicamp Workers' Union (STU) left the Rectory building on Friday morning (6), which had been occupied on July 3, immediately after a clarification meeting with representatives of the Central Administration of the University. The measure was imposed by the judge of the 1st Public Finance Court of Campinas, Mauro Iuji Fukumoto, through injunction issued on Thursday afternoon (5). The magistrate set a 24-hour deadline for the unionists to leave the premises, which was met.
In the same decision, Fukumoto also determined that a new negotiation meeting be scheduled between the parties within 24 hours after the Rectory was vacated. By mutual agreement, however, the two parties proposed to the judge that this meeting be held next Tuesday (10), at 10 am. Dean Marcelo Knobel said he was satisfied with the Judiciary's decision, and considered that common sense prevailed.
“The Rectory has always been and will continue to be open to dialogue. Our willingness is to reach an agreement peacefully”, stated the leader. As soon as the STU vacated the Rectory building, a committee made up of members of the University's security department began an inspection to check the conditions of the location. The result of the inspection will later be presented in the form of a report.
On Wednesday (4), the same magistrate had already ordered a fine of R$5 to be imposed on the Union for the blockade carried out on June 29th at the entrances to Unicamp, on the Barão Geraldo campus. “The right to strike does not imply the possibility of obstructing access to a public building, either by employees or by the population in general”, says the injunction, which stipulated a fine of R$5 each time access entrances are blocked. of the University.
Also on Wednesday, Fukumoto rejected the request for urgent provisional protection presented by the STU, which requested payment for days off for technical-administrative employees who joined the strike launched by the category. In his decision, the judge considered that “the most reasonable interpretation of the thesis, in accordance with the ministerial opinion, is that discounts can be made immediately, without prejudice to subsequent refunds if the illegality of the conduct of the public authorities is proven”.
Negotiations
Some Unicamp employees have been on strike for 46 days. During this period, the Rectory received the STU on eight occasions to negotiate the category's specific agenda. In addition to the 1,5% salary adjustment offered by the Council of Rectors of the State Universities of São Paulo (Cruesp), the University proposed an increase in food allowance from R$850 to R$950 and the allocation of 10% of excess revenue from the ICMS in 2018 for application in the career plans of civil servants, teachers and researchers. At a meeting, the workers rejected both items and decided to maintain the strike.
